Course Description
The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid Course, for those with a duty to respond to a first aid
emergency, contains information on how to manage illness and injuries in a child in the first few
minutes until professional help arrives.  There are six modules: First Aid Basics, Medical
Emergencies, Injury Emergencies, Environment Emergencies, an optional First Aid Module, and
an optional adult CPR & AED Module to meet regulations for day care centers.  

Course Length
·        First Aid Component: 4 hours.
·        CPR Component: 4 hours.
·        *Meets EMSA Pediatric First Aid and CPR requirements for childcare providers*

Intended Audience
For those involved in child care who have a duty to respond to a first aid emergency because of
job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, such as child care workers, teachers, foster
care workers, camp counselors, youth organizations, and coaches for children's sports
organizations, as well as baby sitters and parents or grandparents.

Required Student Materials, Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid Text and course completion card is
included in the course fee.
